China Delights

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants is across the Bay in Pinole.  They're food is always good, portions are generous and prices are reasonable.

From left to right:  Double Mushrooms & Bok Choy, Salt & Pepper Tofu,  Honey Walnut Prawns and Salt & Pepper Spareribs (I didn't have any of the ribs).

Ebbett's Good To Go

I stopped by Truck Stop today (http://www.truckstopsf.com/) at 1st and Mission Streets and had an Asian Tofu Sandwich from Ebbett's Good To Go (http://ebbettsgoodtogo.com/)  It has roasted, marinated Hodo tofu and topped with cabbage, carrot, mint, cilantro slaw in a ginger lime vinaigrette with wasabi aioli - all inside and Acme torpedo roll.  It's a $8 sando, but it's "derishious" and  definitely worth a try.

Yakisoba

I try not to eat instant food stuffs, but I really love instant Yakisoba.   If you have never tried it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakisoba), the noodles are like instant ramen, but you drain the water and eat it dry.  It comes with cabbage, yakisoba sauce, powered seaweed and spicy mayo/mustard.  Myojo is the brand to buy and is available at any Japanese market.  Oishi!

Fentons - Oakland

Last Friday, I met up with a friend and as you can see from her face, we were both "nuts" for this sundae, appropriately called Nuts Over Toffee.  It had heath bar ice cream and another flavor that I can't recall, a ton of chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a big piece of toffee.  It was ice cream overload, but we were able to eat about 2/3 of it!

Savannah Smiles

The Girls Scouts are back!  While grocery shopping this morning, I was asked if I wanted to buy some cookies.  Who could resist?  I normally buy Thin Mints and Samoas, but this year, I thought I'd try the new Savannah Smiles, powered sugared covered, crunchy little morsels.  They are pretty good - if you like lemon.

Der Pretzel Wagen

Downtown Indy has a bunch of food trucks at Monument Circle.  I missed out on lunch one day  and decided to head over to grab a bite.  I was not in the mood for anything heavy and the Der Pretzel Wagen caught my eye (http://derpretzelwagen.com/).   A made to order soft pretzel hit the spot, with a touch of butter and a little salt along with some cheese sauce was exactly what I needed.

Super Bowl 2012 - Indianapolis

I was lucky enough travel to Indy for work.  I didn't get out much as my main focus was work, but I did eat a few good things while I was there.

One of our group dinners brought us to 10-01 Food & Drink in the Broad Ripple neighborhood.  I enjoyed my meal of Grilled Altantic Salmon served atop of arugula, diced tomatoes and a tarragon cream sauce.  The salmon was cooked perfectly (slightly underdone) and seasoned well.

WELCOME!

Well, I guess the time has finally come to start my own food blog.  Many people have told me over the years that I should create one, but I resisted!  I am not quite sure why I hesitated for so long, but since I LOVE food, why not share photos of the tasty things I ate.  I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

Thanks,
Lo
